Beaches

Playa de Bakio

Playa de Bakio can be found just 27 kilometers from the heart of Bilbao. Its distance is just right, not too far enough to tire travelers, and not too near to have enormous amount of beach goers to make the atmosphere a frantic one. It is a well-managed beach and is ideal for family outings. The waters are crystal clear and timid.

Playa de La Arena Muskiz

Playa de La Arjena Muskiz boasts of its car park that can accommodate up to 2,500 cars! That is how vast this beach is. A good beach that prepares for the coming of thousands of cars, naturally, is flocked by a fleet of sun worshippers and beach bums. The beach also has a lot of modern amenities including a play area for children, making it also ideal for family outings.

Playas de Gorliz y Plentzia

Playas de Gorliz y Plentzia are two family beaches that are spacious and out of harm's way. It is particularly popular as summer destinations for the Spanish people. Playa Gorliz has a pine tree cultivated area where families on outings can always resort to have picnics because of the cool shade the trees provide. On the other hand, the adjacent Playa Plentzia boasts a marina, fishing port, and an organized public walkway.

Playa de Azkorri

Playa de Azkorri is flanked by the Punta Galea cliffs in Getxo and access to the beach is quite difficult. However, the beach is renowned for its Blue Flag award which means that it has passed the international standard for cleanliness. It is even more known for its strong currents. It may not be an ideal swimming place for the children, but it can serve well for water sports enthusiasts. Among its facilities is a small car park with up to 430 places, as well as showers and a lifeguard post.
