Sundays are busy days for the locals of Bilbao. Every Sunday morning, traveling markets come to town and form a lively bazaar atmosphere. This is a perfect time for traders to display their local merchandise. This is also an ideal time for tourists to feast their eyes on mementos to bring home to their respective countries. December 21 is a red-letter day in the city, as the most colorful, customary market of all is being celebrated. It is called the Mercado Rural de Santo Tomás.
