Plaza de Miguel de Unamuno Bilbao, 48005
This imperative breathing space was named after one of the most noteworthy personalities in the realm of literature and philosophy to have come from Bilbao . Miguel de Unamuno y Jugo was born third among the six children of Felix Unamuno and Salome Jugo . He was born in one of the properties still preserved in the popular Ronda street which is in close proximity to the square. This Bilbaon author is honored with a statue settled on the pinnacle of a large column, also situated on the area. In this plaza, which happens to be close to Calzadas de Mallona, you will witness a fusion of the past and the present time. Nearby are unique bar areas that turn out to be a perky focal point for young and not-so-young people during the weekends. Throughout Bilbao's Semana Grande (Grand Week Festival), this quadrangle metamorphoses into one big party, a big hub for concerts and various activities that have been especially planned for these well-loved fiestas.
